In iOS 14 and newer, Apple has optimized the Photos app with new filtering and sorting options for organizing photos and videos, as well as easy navigation with two-finger open and close zoom in the Photos app’s More view.
Among other things, new sorting options allow users to view the contents of albums in order from oldest to newest and newest to oldest, or in exactly the custom order they choose, making it easier to find what they’re looking for.
To use the new album sorting options on iPhones running iOS 14 and later.
Open the iPhone Photos app, tap the Albums button at the bottom, and select an album to start sorting.
In Albums, tap “…” at the top right of the screen, then select Sort in the pop-up menu, where you can choose Custom Order, Oldest to Newest, or Newest to Oldest.
To customize the sorting, you can long press on a photo in the album and drag it to the desired position.
Please note that the default “Latest items” album cannot be sorted.
